Review of marketing and communications
Royal HaskoningDHV is a leading global engineering consultancy and its maritime business is the largest in the world outside of China. The company required a review and modernisation of its maritime marketing and communications channels.
David developed and implemented a communications plan, in which he:
- Transformed the internal global business line publication “into something people really wanted to read” and created a climate in which many people wanted to supply stories.
- Created a quality professional video and digital brochures, and project managed all stages of production, to drive conversion of high value qualified leads across global regions.
- Audited the website, making strategic recommendations, and implemented changes, including: closure of an ancillary website, migration of content, and improvements to all web pages, thus increasing the ability to attract leads.
- Crafted high quality media outputs to support multi-million pound international project wins, ensuring widespread coverage in international trade media. Also providing media advice and interview support to position thought leadership pieces in key engineering media.
In addition, during a challenging company-wide restructure, he developed a change communications strategy, internal messaging, a manager communications toolkit, and plans for improving team working between communicators based worldwide.
Overall, the communications actions provided foundations to help the maritime business line win more business, while also helping ensure a smooth transition to a new global structure.
David came into a complex work environment but was quickly able to develop a good commercial understanding of our global challenges; and gain the trust and confidence of the senior management team. I found David to be a highly positive and motivated communications professional, with exemplary communications skills and knowledge of his discipline.
